Collective Representation & Lobbying
The BGIA represents its members as the unified voice of the industry on a variety
of issues affecting member companies UK, EU and worldwide. Links With Governing
Bodies The BGIA provides regular information on matters affecting the industry through
its links with the R&A, PGA, PGAE, EGP, EG, EGIA, Sport England & CSPN.
The BGIA has
secured the services of London Solicitors Edmonds Marshall McMahon (EMM) to act
as a private Counterfeit Prosecutor for all its members. The legal and
investigative costs of counterfeit and fraud private prosecutions are
recoverable from “central funds”, which is a Government pot put in place to
reimburse private prosecutors for the costs incurred in the
proceedings. The benefit for members is that they will not pay anything
towards legal fees (including the solicitor’s fees and counsel fees).
Steve Allinson is a Consultant Solicitor and Licensed Insolvency Practitioner at Shoosmiths LLP, he is offering his expertise in these areas on behalf of members should they ever become involved as a creditor in an insolvency dispute and need proxy management on insolvency matters. Part 1 - A Free Insolvency Management Service and Part 2 - Transfer Up of an unsatisfied County Court Judgement to the High Court for enforcement. Both of these take the pressure off a company when they have difficulties with bad debts. They can move forward on more productive matters and leave the management of the case entirely in Steve's capable hands.
All BGIA members can use the BGIA logo. BGIA membership signifies professional
competence and performance, adding value and credibility to your business. Members
also receive a monthly BGIA newsletter and enjoy promotion through the BGIA website.
BGIA Dashboard Document The BGIA provides regular statistical information to
all full members which is worth approximately £5,000. This dashboard research
contains a market audit overview and rounds played (quarterly), golf player and
product atitude and usage (annual) and club membership update (bi-annual) in order
to assist in analysing market trends.
BGIA members have access export grants of up to £2500 through UKTI. Grants
are available to eligible member companies who wish to exhibit at overseas events.
Use of a UK Exhibitor Pavilion at Trade Shows BGIA members are invited to exhibit
in a prominent UK Exhibitor Pavilion at overseas shows where the BGIA is in attendance.
Members Only Business Lounge at Trade Shows BGIA members are entitled to free use
of a members only business lounge to utilise for client/colleague meetings.
BGIA members are invited to attend various BGIA events throughout the year including
the AGM (Free), The Annual Dinner (Free for 1x person at each member company), the
BGIA Charity Golf Day at Woburn, The Open Championship Lunch (Free for 1x person
at each member company) and various Free FSPA Sports Industry Think Tank Dinners for
The BGIA provides members with a range of useful and informative free seminars
throughout the year.
Access to BGIA Grow Golf Partnership
The Grow Golf Fund is a BGIA member only initiative to stimulate golf participation across
all age groups, geographical regions and social backgrounds in the UK. Partners (those that contribute to the fund) are granted the use of the ‘Grow Golf’ logo indicating their commitment
to giving back to the game.
